Technique before chasing a number
A useful coaching conversation starts with how you currently train. Tell the team which lifts you have tried and where you would like help. Ask how sessions approach technique, progression and working within your current ability. Learning a repeatable movement is a different goal from simply adding weight every time you visit.
New lifter, returning lifter or competition interest?
You do not have to enter a competition to be interested in powerlifting. Some people want to learn the lifts; others enjoy building a structured routine around them. If competing is your goal, ask about the coaching available and the preparation involved. Your plan should reflect your starting point and how consistently you can attend.
See the space and discuss your plan
The gym photos show the actual TK Fitness floor. Request a trial, choose Powerlifting and add which movement you would like to work on. Check current training times and membership details on the main site. A first visit to Unit 7, Europa Enterprise Park, Midleton lets you see the room and ask practical questions before deciding what comes next.
Your questions
Do I need to compete to train in powerlifting?
No. You can discuss learning the main lifts and building a strength routine without planning to compete.
Can I start if I have not used a barbell?
Tell the team you are new to barbell training when requesting your trial. They can discuss an appropriate starting session.
